The drawing above was my response to a project entitled “Self Portrait” in the first year of my degree. Inspired by Jeremy Deller’s “History of the World, 1997”, a mind map of connections between brass band and house music, I imagined a Venn diagram of things people think or have said about me and the things I think about myself.

The final piece, unfinished below, was to be a contemporary take on an oil painting.
